There is something so special about the first big snowfall every year…
The quiet, crisp, insulated, magical beauty of it.
We had our first big snowfall here at BannockBurn on Friday.
Emmitt wasn’t sure what to make of it all…
He wanted to go out and investigate but he needed a few minutes to work up the courage…
Once he did, there was no stopping him!
I walked around the house and took it all in…
It was so perfectly still.
No plough had gone down the road…
No footprints anywhere except the ones I made…
I felt like an adventurer…
Each step made a soft crunching sound…
It was a winter wonderland…
Right after I took this picture Emmitt hit his “snow limit” and refused to move…
He lifted one paw up and then the other…
Giving himself a quick respite on each side from the icy sting…
I took pity on him, picked him up and took him in to Kent.
Then I continued my stroll around the house…
It was breathtaking!
I was a bit mesmerized until I realized I would need to start shovelling!!
It is hard to believe but the weather has shifted quickly and most of the snow is now gone.
I have been spending the weekend painting… ( I know, shocking in the extreme! )
