BannockBurn {est. 1878}
BannockBurn 1878 is our home and the base for my design studio.
We have recently undergone an extensive renovation of the main floor and my studio.
This property is a special place filled with history. It is our intention to add to its charms while respecting and
enhancing it’s historic beauty.

The first owner of Bannock Burn 1878 was James McFarlane (1833-1899). Born in Perthshire and educated in his native Scotland, McFarlane immigrated to Canada in 1856, and shortly after his arrival located to the empty lot where the stately stone house now sits. In 1861 he married Eliza Stewart, and they had five children: Eliza Ann, Jane, Agnes, John and Isabella. In 1878, after two years of hard labor, the remarkable stone house was finally completed.
For those of you looking for BannockBurn B&B…
Several former owners of the house had established a well respected and loved B&B here. It was a lovely place for people to come and enjoy a relaxed country house escape.
The house is now our private residence and the base for my design studio. My client projects are my full time focus and therefore we will not be running as a B&B.
We have recently undertaken a major renovation and If you are interested in seeing what we have done please check out the blog and search BannockBurn. You will find all the posts relating to the house and grounds and our various projects here.
