The Artist notes about this beautiful painting:
“I think that the mailboxes with the chickens provide a colour parallel to this Hawkesville area farmhouse. When I compose a painting I am conscious of echoing colours. The red of the chickens do reassert the red of the farmhouse door. The colours of the mailboxes, while not a carbon copy of the roof colours, certainly reflect those cool blue/greens.
”
